Abbey of San Martino delle Scale. Visits and tasting at the brewery

The business takes up the ancient vocation of Benedictine monasteries to produce so-called “Abbey beers,” designed by and for monks, with studies on medicinal bittering herbs. In this sense, those created by Hora Benedicta at San Martino delle Scale are the only “Abbey beers” in all of Southern Italy, with national recognition! During the visit, the monastery will unveil its treasures, including the church’s very precious wooden choir, the cloister and the majestic monumental wing.In addition, the ancient monastic pharmacy built at the end of the 16th century, recently opened to the public after a long restoration, and the monks’ refectory will be visited. In the tasting will be introduced to the two craft beers produced by the association together with the two breweries Epica and Paul Bricius, with an explanation of their creation, combined with a tasting of local products related to the territory and the history of the Abbey itself.
