Who we are

ArcheOfficina – ArchaeologicalCooperativeSociety was founded in 2013 as a starting point for the project of three young archaeologists specializing and majoring in different fields. Underlying this is the idea of promoting and enhancing the archaeological, architectural and artistic heritage of the area in which it operates, tangible evidence of the cultural stratifications that have followed one another over the centuries.

To whom is it addressed?

The Society is aimed at the archaeological sector and didactic-cultural activities, in order to offer a concrete and valid contribution in the field of research, protection and promotion of cultural and archaeological heritage, in a reality such as Sicily where the need for a responsible and qualified archaeology is increasingly felt. The activity of ArcheOfficina is also aimed at the design sector in the area of public and private works, in accordance with the current regulations on cultural heritage.

What do we deal with?

The scientific activity of ArcheOfficina takes the form of research and emergency archaeological excavations, preventive archaeology works in line with national legislation aimed at the protection and preservation of the historical-archaeological heritage (art. 25 of dlgs. 50/2016 and regional law 12/2011); as well as in the educational-scientific sphere in the organization of conferences and seminar days in order to promote and make the dialogue and collaboration within the scientific community always active. In addition, in line with European directives aimed at the preservation, enhancement and promotion of cultural identities, ArcheOfficina aims to be a promoter of responsible, qualified tourism with a more modern conception. It works concretely in the museum management of archaeological areas and, with a view to enhancing local cultural heritage, organizes and promotes excursions and tours with a historical-archaeological theme. ArcheOfficina manages and promotes the enjoyment of the monumental sites of the PALEOCRISTIAN C ATACOMBS OF PORTA D’OSSUNA in Palermo and the PALEOCRISTIAN CATACOMBS OF VILLAGRAZIA DI CARINI through guided tours by the archaeological staff that has been following the excavations and research on the sites for years.

What is the corporate mission?

The company’s goal is to promote and enhance the cultural heritage of the area in which it operates by deploying highly specialized personnel; to create employment in the cultural heritage sector; and to contribute to the enforcement of existing national and regional regulations concerning cultural heritage. To achieve these goals, the Society makes use of the primary value of the cooperative system, such as the mutuality of labor, where members actively and personally participate in the management and growth of the enterprise.

ArcheOfficina offers public and private entities a wide range of services on which archaeological activities are based, characterized by a high scientific level and the use of innovative technologies in the field of cultural heritage.
